It is a rest day! By now I assume you are familiar with the rules of the rest day and you know what are the dos and don’t of a rest day. As mentioned in the week-2 gym routine for beginners, you can take a rest day on any day and today is not a compulsion. It is necessary you take one during the week and since you are going to repeat the workout during the next three days, today is suitable. It is like the midpoint rest day in the week 2 gym routine for beginners.
Either way, whatever day suits you and your gym’s cycle should be the rest day. If your gym is closed on the weekend then weekend is the rest day. If you had a really long day at work and you cannot work out, then take a rest day. You have to attend a wedding and there is no way you can back out of it, then take a rest day.
Coming back to being on a rest day today for week two gym routine for beginners, the idea is pretty simple, you are supposed to be relaxing at home but not too much. Keep moving around and keep stretching your muscles.
Don’t sit for long hours
Your legs muscles are probably hurting a lot today and as much as you would love to just sit on a chair and watch some Netflix or read some books, you shouldn’t
In fact, sitting down on a chair for long hours should be as far away from your calendar as it possibly can be. Why would I say such a thing? Try sitting down for a few minutes and then try to walk around for starters then imagine doing that after a few hours. Keep Stretching and Keep Moving
The best way to have the most efficient rest day would be to go out for a walk sometime during the day and keep stretching your muscles. The more you move around the freer your body will be tomorrow when we hit the gym again. Just move though, don’t strain your body and no matter what, do not exert yourself.
In fact, another good thing to do on the rest day would be to sleep as much as you can. Muscles repair when you are asleep, it gets rid of the fatigue. You can say that sleep works better than most of the supplements available in the market.
If you can then just take sleep as a supplement. It will definitely boost your muscle growth and improve your health. Sleep works wonders when done correctly. Sleep as much as you can on the rest day, it helps.
